Have you been wanting to develop your personal style? Have you felt restricted by gender binary in fashion? Want to focus on sustainable fashion? No idea where to start? Start here! Join Jess Shope of Crimson Thread Sewing for a three part workshop approaching fashion and self expression through a lens of gender expression and sustainability.
Part One: Finding Your Style will focus on the history of fashion and its impacts on modern day clothing and gender roles. You'll create a collage to help you discover and hone your personal style and learn how to curate a wardrobe that makes you feel like you.
Part Two: Finding Your Fit will focus on the history of sizing in fashion and how it still plagues us today. You'll learn how to take your own measurements so you can find and make clothing that fits the way you want. And we'll learn about common fit issues and how to address them.
Part Three: Building A Sustainable Wardrobe will teach you about sustainability and slow fashion, how to do a closet cleanout, how to build a capsule wardrobe and teach you basic mending skills. All participants take home a Prism Thrift Emergency Sewing Kit!
Each workshop will begin at 2pm and go til about 5pm or so.
