CODE of CONDUCT

Respect the space, its patrons, and its crew.

Be excellent to each other.

  • Clean up after yourself.
  • Don't move furniture without asking.
  • Keep yourself and your belongings out of walkways, seats, and other places for people.
  • Be mindful of others' space and boundaries. Always ask if it is ok to engage.
  • The crew is at work and have the right to focus on themselves and service.
  • Read the room. This is a queer safe harbor.
  • Respect others' pronouns and names.
  • Use "lines and veils" in your games (some subject matter can be off limits).
  • No soliciting of any kind unless granted permission by the crew.
  • A base level of hygiene is expected.

Any language that is violent or normalizes violence against those at risk (or most anyone for that matter) will not be tolerated. This includes but is not limited to: homophobia, transphobia, racism, sexism, ableism, classism, antisemitism, and Islamophobia. It is not our responsibility to teach someone how to exist with others but it is our hope that the space itself gives someone the opportunity to grow out of hateful behavior. This is a queer owned and operated business.

Basically, if you are making our crew and patrons uncomfortable, you will be asked to check yourself.

We reserve the right to refuse service. We will make judgment calls based on community safety.

If you need to report a violation of our code of conduct, and/or feel unsafe because of another patron, please let the crew know immediately if possible. You can also reach out to us quietly via messaging or email (both of which can be found at farboco.com on The Midnight Oil's page). Violations will be dealt with on a case by case basis.

Warnings will be issued verbally or by way of a penalty card if immediate expulsion is not quite warranted.
